Since it’s recent release in April 2009, the Samsung LN32B460 has been flying off the shelves everywhere. This nifty 32 inch screened TV is top quality when it comes to both picture and audio.

Its technological features are top of the line. However, there are some qualities of this HDTV that some shoppers are not one hundred percent clued up on. So what is 720p technology?

The number 720 stands for the number of horizontal scan lines of display resolution or 720 pixels of vertical resolution. The letter p stands for progressive scans.

With typical 16:9 widescreen resolution, 720p has a vertical resolution of 720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels. Thats a total of 921,600 pixels and jaw dropping, crystal clear images.

When it comes to HDTV technology, the more pixels an HDTV has, the better image quality it will produce. A good example to use for pixel to clarity correlation would be mobile phone cameras vs digital cameras. If you were to compare the images of the two, the digital camera’s images would be better everytime. That’s because the digital camera’s images have more pixels - the same principal goes for HDTVs.

This model has lots of other great features to boast about. One of these features is its SRS TruSurround HD technology. This ensures that you get clear dialogue, high frequency detail and rich bass sounds, helped by its two 10 watt speakers.

It also has its own Game Mode. This feature speeds up the image processing response at the touch of a button to give you a more realistic feel and combat screen blur. It also helps to enhance colors and audio features.

For anyone who’s thinking of buying the Samsung LN32B460 32 inch 720p LCD HDTV I would highly recommend they order from a reputable online retailer. I ordered mine from the net and had it delivered for free three days later. I also got a better deal than I would have at my local electronics store (probably because the online retailer doesn’t have to pay for high street rent or floor staff).
