Friday, January 1st, 2010

The LG LCD televisions range consists of TVs starting with a screen size of 15″ up to 50″. LG’s latest range is the REGZA; it includes some of Toshiba’s most recent developments and exclusive innovations. These features such as the Meta Brain and Autoview will be discussed below.

All of T LCD Televisions now come with 1080 resolution functionality so all of your high definition viewing needs can be met.

The Meta brain provides all of the TVs power allowing for The Activevision II and Resolution+ features to be fully utilized. Without the Meta Brain these functions would not be possible.

Active-Vision II is LGs picture processing unit for which they have received awards and great acclaim. It provides amazing pictures increasing picture detail and reducing flickering of the picture during action scenes.

Resolution is aimed to try and make standard definition feeds as good as HD feeds. The feature increases the edge detail of the picture and also increases the textual content resulting in a picture almost as good as HD an impressive feat considering standard definition contains about half as much information.

Autoview adjusts the backlight of the TV automatically to achieve a brightness that is comparable to the brightness of the room. In a dark room the backlight is dimmed whilst in a light room the brightness is increased meaning whatever time of day it is you will always be able to view the screen well.

As high quality pictures is not enough for TVs to produce these days LG have included an audio system worthy of the picture quality. A feature for increasing the bass tones of the deepest sounds has been included, bass boost whilst there is also the option for digital sound to be connected via one of its output connections.

A Game mode is included to allow for a natural gaming environment to be achieved at the click of a button meaning you gain the upper hand when faced with online adversaries.

All of the LGs come with the standard TV connections; SCART, RCA and Component but also come with a number of HDMI connections, dependant on model, and other digital connections such as a Digital audio out and most come with a PC input too.

All in all the LG LCD televisions range are excellent, they exceed in all of the aspects that a TV is expected, excellent picture quality and manipulation of the picture whilst outputting sound of the highest quality. All this technology is reasonably priced and means a high quality TV is not out of everyone’s reach. I believe that these TVs are probably the second best TVs available to date with only the Sony Bravia ahead but then with the prices of the Bravia’s this is to be expected.
