Moms, do you have a right to be Sexy AND Beautiful, or is that just SELFISH?

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

This is something that women have had to fight for, for quite some time. Sexy means slutty and beauty means selfish. Is it actually possible to combine beauty with sexy, and to have this combination be considered as a good thing, or is this simply taboo?

As moms, we are brought up to be nurturers and to care for everyone else. Generally, we feel a sense of pride in multi-tasking and being seen as the “go to” woman, and we hardly ever find time to really take care of ourselves - and if we make the time, we always feel guilty. Yet we are also told by society that beautiful women are desired and receive considerable amounts of attention. We are taught beauty is both good and evil, and that sexy is desirable and sinful. So, even if we’re striving to care for ourselves, and to feel truly beautiful and sexy, we’re constantly overwhelmed with conflicting ideas and impossible expectations from society. Just take a moment and honestly consider the incredibly confusing portrait we see of women, and the level of perfection which women are told they must achieve. “Be a martyr, be a saint, be beautiful and sexy too - no, your not allowed, you’re a mother. How could you even think of putting yourself first, don’t you love your children? If you don’t look after yourself, your husband will want other women. Have you given up, and accepted to role of frumpy mom for the rest of your life? How long is it going to take you to lose that baby weight - the celebrities do it in just 5 days,” and the painful comparisons go on and on. Confused? Overwhelmed? Tired? Of course you are!

Society teaches us that sexy is being wanted and desired, but if we’re simply an object of pure physical affection which isn’t respected, this can also make us weak. Society teaches us to be sexy and beautiful for others, not for ourselves. And this ladies, is where the WHOLE problem lies - being beautiful and sexy for others, and not for yourself. Truly inspired coaching for women can change everything!

So how do you get past the self-criticism and expectations of society? The first thing to do is to define what sexy and beautiful mean to you. Napoleon Hill tells us that when you mix Sex and Love you create calmness, and that when they’re together they soften and beautify. Every woman has a different way of expressing sexy once she finally taps into what that “looks like” to her. Beauty means something different to every woman. How do you express beauty? When do you feel beautiful and sexy internally and externally? These are the true questions you must be asking yourself.

Now, if you’re a mother…ohhhh the mother guilt will kick your #$@ if you let it. Please don’t let it, start by beginning to realize the amazing expression of love and beauty you can teach your daughter - and your son, for that matter. Being sexy is a beautiful thing, and a true expression of self-love. Being intimate with yourself first, so you can then be intimate with others, is a true gift and a true source of femininity.

Sexy and Love are magnetically combined, and you deserve them BOTH!
